Students have been learning how to properly control the drone during takeoff, hovering, turning, and landing while practicing smooth and steady maneuvering. One exciting classroom moment was when students successfully performed their first controlled flip and then safely used the return-to-home function. The cheers and high-fives that followed showed just how proud they were of mastering both precision and control.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to unpack everything and couldn't wait to get started. Many shared how professional the equipment looked and how it made them feel like real pilots. That excitement quickly turned into focus as they realized the responsibility that comes with operating drone technology.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue building their piloting skills by refining flight accuracy, improving control in obstacle courses, and working toward advanced maneuvers. They will also practice consistent takeoff and landing procedures to build confidence and safety awareness. Thanks to our donors, students are gaining not only technical drone skills but also perseverance, teamwork, and pride in their accomplishments.","fullyFundedDate":1761330099930,"projectUrl":"project/codrone-coding-takes-flight/9479409/","projectTitle":"Codrone Coding Takes Flight","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sapienza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1167244_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1507776621037","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-sapienza"},{"teacherId":1167244,"projectId":9789680,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom with the CoDrone EDU, different color flight vests and obstacle kits! We have been using these new resources to create structured flight courses where students practice precision, control, and teamwork. One of our most exciting classroom moments was watching students carefully pilot their drones through the obstacle course for the first time — adjusting their speed, correcting their angles, and successfully navigating through hoops and around barriers. The safety vests have also helped students clearly identify their roles during flight sessions, reinforcing responsibility and safe operating procedures.\r\n\r\nWhen students first built the obstacle kits, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to test their skills and kept saying it felt like a real drone competition. The added challenge pushed them to focus more deeply and support one another as they problem-solved mid-flight. Next, students will be timing their obstacle runs, collecting performance data, and working to improve both accuracy and efficiency. They will also begin designing their own course layouts to test strategic planning and creativity. Because of your generosity, our drone lessons have become more engaging, structured, and reflective of real-world drone applications.","fullyFundedDate":1763580933528,"projectUrl":"project/flight-path-to-engineering-codrone-chal/9789680/","projectTitle":"Flight Path to Engineering: CoDrone Challenge","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sapienza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1167244_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1507776621037","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-sapienza"},{"teacherId":1167244,"projectId":9862227,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our students are now using the new drone organization zip cases to take better care of our equipment. It helps us be organized and ready for flight! Before, setting up for flight practice could be a bit chaotic as students searched for parts and double-checked supplies. Now, each drone, controller, batteries, and tools have a clearly organized place. Students take pride in unzipping their case, laying out their materials, and completing a pre-flight checklist just like real-world drone operators. This has helped us maximize instructional time and focus more on skill-building rather than setup.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the cases, they were immediately excited and curious. They loved how professional and official everything felt. Several students commented that it made them feel like engineers or pilots preparing for an important mission. The organization system has also built responsibility and teamwork, as students work together to inventory equipment and ensure everything is safely stored at the end of each lesson.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we'll be using the zip cases as part of our ongoing drone certification projects. Students will rotate roles — pilot, visual observer, safety manager — and the cases will serve as their \"mission kits.\" Having well-organized materials supports their focus on flight planning, data collection, and problem-solving. Your support has helped create a more structured, real-world learning experience that builds both technical skills and responsibility.","fullyFundedDate":1763577218230,"projectUrl":"project/ready-for-takeoff-carry-cases-for-our-c/9862227/","projectTitle":"Ready for Takeoff: Carry Cases for Our Classroom Drones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sapienza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1167244_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1507776621037","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-sapienza"},{"teacherId":5189986,"projectId":9531858,"letterContent":"Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity! With your help, my students were able to take on some very special projects with our new Cricut Machine and Ipad. This past fall, my 4/5 grade students took on the huge task of remodeling our school bathrooms, which included designing and painting over 25 bathroom doors. \r\n\r\nWith the help of the Cricut and Ipad, students were able to design the doors digitally and print stencils on the Cricut machine to make the doors really stand out! We are nearing completion of this project, and the doors look incredible. The students have worked so hard and have really taken ownership of the project and they are so proud of their work. \r\n\r\nAs you can imagine, projects of this caliber that give such wonderful real word art experience are costly, particularly with the amount of students I serve within my building.
