The kids thoroughly enjoyed them. We took a couple of weeks to just read them at home, knee to knee with a partner in our room, or to a younger student in a buddy classroom.\r\n\r\nThey were able to read several biographies and then chose one person to highlight through a written essay. Students were able to use the writing process to complete their writing and then publish and share with others.\r\n\r\nMany of the students chose someone that they could identify with be that their background or personality. Several chose artists because they like art or singing because that is an interest to them.
