My students are our future! They need books about African American women and men that will help them understand the drive of people from our past that are just like them. They mattered then, and they made a difference, and they matter now. They were kids once in third grade just like them. I want them to understand that I believe in them and what they can do. They need to have resources at their fingertips that will allow them to read and dream of what they can be and see the change that they can bring too. Inspiration from just one person can create that spark!
