The rocking chairs have quickly become a favorite, and students really enjoy being able to rock while they work or take a few minutes to regulate. They have also loved using the floor chairs with the lap desks, which gives them another comfortable option for completing their work while still having the support and workspace they need. It has been so fun watching them explore the different options and begin to recognize which spaces work best for them.\r\nThe rugs have also been a great addition to our regulation spaces. We have been able to use them to create different stations that students can move through while working on regulating their bodies and getting themselves ready to return to learning. Having clearly defined spaces helps give the students structure while still allowing them to have choices in what strategies work best for them.\r\nOur next step is to continue helping students become more independent in recognizing what their bodies need and choosing the tools, seating, or regulation strategies that will help them be successful. Ultimately, we want our students to learn more about themselves and build strategies they can use not only in our classroom, but throughout their school day and beyond.
