Over this past year of the pandemic and virtual learning, I have worked with many students that lack the motivation to complete work because they are not confident in their abilities. My goal with this project is to build confidence in my students in a sensory friendly environment that allows the student to calm and then learning about their emotions in different ways. Many Junior High students do not want to talk about their feelings, let alone talk about their feelings with their teacher. These games and books will allow them to play a game or read a short story to learn more about themselves while making it less of a conversation with their teacher. The decorations are all items my students have picked that they feel will make the learning environment more relaxing and calming. Thank you for your consideration in helping fund this project!
