Many of our students, who come from low-income households, do not have access to these new series at home. Now, these books are the most prized possessions in our classroom library.\r\n\r\nA few boys who struggle with attention during traditional text reading have become completely immersed in the graphic novels (Dog Man and Bad Guys). The fast-paced action and humor hold their attention, and the visual format allows them to access the story without getting overwhelmed by dense text. They are now begging for me to check their comprehension!\r\n\r\nThank you again for making such a monumental difference in the lives of my 25 students. We have the clipboard holders in the front of the classroom for easy access to all students. It also ensured we have enough clipboards for each student in the classroom. We also gave each student a pocket organizer for the back of their chair. The students now store certain classroom items in the organizer for each access to the materials.\r\n\r\nMy co-teacher and I have also used the other materials to help organize the classroom. The students really enjoy using the pencil parking. They store their pencils there at the end of the day. It has really cut down on the amount of pencils the students are using throughout the week.
