Students have settled into our routines, including grabbing their class folder and notebook, knowing there are pens and pencils available at their desks, and that their school supplies are available if we run out.\r\n\r\nEach teacher has a different protocol for collecting work, so the folders have helped the students understand what work they may have missed on their right side of their folder, as well as what work they have completed on the left side of their folder. In addition, their notebooks help them practice writing and keep track of vocabulary they are expected to know for each unit.\r\n\r\nWe are about to start learning about the explorers who settled in the United States after we wrap up learning about the First Nations that the explorers encountered. The dresser with drawers has been a game-changer for materials management: I now store class sets of graphing tools, extra loose leaf paper, and unit-specific handouts by period, so transitions between classes are faster and nothing gets lost. During our home opener, seeing all 22 athletes lined up in matching gear instantly elevated the squad's energy. \r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, the reaction was pure joy, with players gathering around the gear bags and were so proud to receive them. Several athletes pulled the socks on right away and taking photos in their full uniforms. For our student-athletes, receiving brand-new, dedicated equipment made them feel recognized, valued, and genuinely supported by a community that believes in them.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we are channeling this momentum directly into our upcoming league schedule and regional tournament preparation.
