Thanks to your support, we've created a cozy, positive atmosphere—one that truly reflects my \"good vibes only\" philosophy. Math can sometimes feel intimidating, but together, we've made it a space where students feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nThe snacks and candy have been a huge hit! Our \"Snack Treasure Chest\" has become a favorite classroom tradition. When students win a game, ace a test, celebrate a birthday, or just have a great day, they get to pick out a treat. On our most recent unit test, 16 students earned a perfect 100%! They're doing so well they might clean me out soon!\r\n\r\nAnother classroom favorite is the Jellyfish Lamp. On the first day, several students asked, \"Are those real jellyfish?\" I even joke that when I'm out, someone will need to \"feed\" them for me. During a recent training about students with learning and attention differences, we discussed \"floating attention,\" which made me think of the lamp—it's been a calming and mesmerizing addition that everyone loves.\r\n\r\nOn a more serious note, many of my students come from immigrant families, and the presence of ICE in Chicago has deeply affected our school community. Some students have shared heartbreaking stories about loved ones being detained. As a teacher, I am committed to standing by my students—to fight for them, support them, and make our classroom a safe and welcoming place for all.\r\n\r\nYour generosity doesn't just provide materials—it builds a community of care and encouragement that my students feel every single day. Before your donations were received, many students used at least part of their computer time troubleshooting issues with headphones or asking to switch theirs out with another pair. Now, each student has their own pair of high-quality headphones that allows them to learn about an engaging science topic, practice their math facts and learn a new spelling rule without interruption! \r\nThank you for your generous gift!
