Seeing the boxes show up with the new printer, the rug, our laminator, the headphones, and those bouncing chairs was honestly like a holiday in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe kids were so excited when the materials first arrived. When we unrolled the new rug, they couldn't wait to find their spots, and the bouncing chairs were an instant hit for my students who need to move to stay focused. One of my students put on a pair of the new headphones and gave me a huge smile. They were finally getting the quiet they needed to really dive into their work.\r\n\r\nWe are already putting everything to great use! We've been using the laminator for our foundational skills. I've been making \"sound-mapping\" mats where the kids can use dry-erase markers to map out words like \"ship\" or \"clock\" and then just wipe them clean to try the next one. It makes phonics practice so much more hands-on.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are getting started on a Black History project where we're researching heroes of the Civil Rights Movement. The students are using the headphones to listen to stories about leaders like Ruby Bridges and Dr. King. Our next step is to use the printer to find photos of these heroes and the laminator to create a \"Civil Rights Walk of Fame\" in our hallway. The kids are so proud that their work will be on display for the whole school to see.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making our classroom such a special and productive place to be. The students were excited to help put the kits together and hand them out to all the students in grades 6th, 7th, & 8th. For many of our 6th - 8th graders, these items aren't just supplies; they are confidence, comfort, and reassurance during a time in life when students are learning who they are and how they fit into the world.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the kits, I've seen students feel more prepared and more confident walking into class.
