Thanks to your contribution, we received a variety of much-needed materials—including paint, paintbrushes, kinetic sand, dinosaur molds, and chalkboard paint—that are already making a meaningful impact on our students' learning experience.\r\n\r\nArt is such an important part of early childhood development, and our little ones absolutely loved creating. Whether they were painting pictures for their families or illustrating what we were learning in class, art became a beautiful way for them to express their feelings and ideas. With the new supplies, they had the tools they needed to fully explore their creativity and bring their imaginations to life.\r\n\r\nThis year, we introduced a special unit focused on exploring different artists and their unique styles. The children learned about and experimented with the abstract splatter techniques of Jackson Pollock, the expressive brushstrokes of Vincent van Gogh, the bold and exaggerated forms of Fernando Botero, and the stunning black-and-white photography of Ansel Adams. Each lesson inspired thoughtful discussions and imaginative interpretations. \r\n\r\n\r\nYour kindness has made a lasting impact—not just in materials, but in the smiles, excitement, and confidence I saw in my students each day. Thank you for investing in their growth, imagination, and love of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1739369094072,"projectUrl":"project/paint-the-possibilities-supporting-pre-/9066485/","projectTitle":"Paint the Possibilities: Supporting Pre-K Picassos","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Garza","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/cgarza"},{"teacherId":4542446,"projectId":8489785,"letterContent":"My students are so grateful for the materials that were funded. My students are very attentive and they notice the smallest details. It was no surprise that they noticed there was new learning toys. I can see in their little faces how happy they are to play with the toys. They never get tired of playing with these toys and we have been able to come with a plan to swap every so often and they do not get bored of them. \r\n\r\nIt has been very helpful for me to be able to target their IEP goals using these materials because it allows me to teach and assess in their natural environment, through play. Play based learning is engaging and motivating, making learning more enjoyable for them. Not to mention that it also fosters creativity, enhances cognitive and social-emotional development, promotes language skills, and builds a love for learning\r\n\r\nThank you again for your contribution to my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1731535218057,"projectUrl":"project/students-with-autism-mastering-iep-goals/8489785/","projectTitle":"Students With Autism Mastering IEP Goals Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jimenez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4542446_orig.png?crop=628,628,x0,y81&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689783324328","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4542446"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5872","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":200,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":75,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":34,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":77.0,"schoolId":5872,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edwards Center for Young Learners on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Edwards Center for Young Learners","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/edwards-cntr-for-yng-learners/5872"}
