The classroom that I teach in is one of the new blended classrooms that they opened up this school year. Therefore, there is a limited amount of materials that serve their needs because it's a new classroom. My students require a quiet time for themselves at different points of the day. Their day can be stressful and difficult to manage. A ‘be-bymyself’ space can be used when a student feels overwhelmed, upset, or tense. This space also serves as a protected place where children are taught to go in order to relax, calm down, or take a break. This space should not be mistaken as a "time out" space. My goal is for students themselves to know when it would benefit them to go.
