My students absolutely love using them, whether they are sitting on the floor during activities or adding extra comfort to our hard classroom chairs during class and lunchtime. The cushions have helped create a more welcoming and flexible learning environment where students can feel comfortable and focused while learning Japanese language and culture.\r\n\r\nWhen the cushions first arrived, students were so excited to choose where and how they wanted to sit during class activities. Some students who already enjoyed floor seating were thrilled to have cozy options, while others who struggled with uncomfortable chairs found it much easier to concentrate and participate. Even other teachers and students who visited our classroom commented on how fun and inviting the cushions looked! We are currently using them during story reading, presentations, cultural activities, and collaborative projects where students move around the room and work together. I was able to receive 20 cushions this time, which is wonderful, although my classes are larger than 30 students. In the future, I hope to continue expanding our flexible seating options so that every student can enjoy the same comfort and support. Your contribution has provided us with the essential infrastructure needed to provide real world, hands-on lessons to educate our students. Their raised awareness and interest about the havoc caused by CRBs helps to move our mission of increased community awareness and action forward in the larger Pearl City community.\r\nThe materials you provided are already being put to work in the following ways:\r\nSecure Containment: The terrariums have allowed us to establish controlled environments for observing beetle behavior and life cycles in our science classes. \r\nField Protection: The specialized netting is currently being used to safeguard new and vulnerable plants that we are growing, as well as, creating traps to prevent the spread of the beetles into previously uninfested areas.\r\nThe Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle isn't just a pest; it is a significant threat to our ecosystem's biodiversity and our community's food security. When the boxes containing the Rode Wireless ME system, PowerDeWise lavaliers, and ULANZI RGB lights first arrived, the reaction was immediate; my students were captivated by the 360° color wheel, immediately experimenting with how a blue or red rim light could transform a flat, amateur shot into something moody and professional. During our recent short documentary project, the impact of the audio gear was equally profound. In the past, ambient noise often ruined their hard work, but using the new microphone sets, students captured crystal-clear dialogue even in busy hallways. Seeing their faces light up when they heard studio-quality audio for the first time was a highlight of the semester, as they realized their work finally matched the \"Hollywood\" standard they see in theaters.\r\n\r\nArmed with these new resources, our students are now moving into their Narrative Fiction Short Film phase. They are no longer just \"filming\"; they are working as cinematographers and sound mixers, using the RGB lights to establish emotional tone and the wireless sets to capture complex \"walk-and-talk\" scenes that were previously impossible. These tools have provided the technical confidence necessary for students to stop worrying about equipment limitations and start focusing entirely on their creative vision. Your support has successfully transitioned our students from simple videographers to technically proficient narrative storytellers, giving them a significant edge in their future film school applications and careers.","fullyFundedDate":1769611865716,"projectUrl":"project/preserving-equipment-and-health/9900799/","projectTitle":"Preserving Equipment and Health","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brekke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10293601"},{"teacherId":10293601,"projectId":10106111,"letterContent":"Thank you for providing our classroom with the professional gimbals that have completely redefined how my students move a camera. In a school setting, technology like this serves as a bridge between theory and practice; while students can read about \"cinematic movement,\" having a three-axis gimbal in their hands allows them to physically feel how stabilization impacts the emotional weight of a scene. This technology teaches them the physics of balance and the importance of steady-handed precision, turning a shaky, handheld video into a fluid, professional narrative. It has transformed our production days from simple \"point and shoot\" exercises into coordinated, athletic feats of choreography where the camera becomes a character itself.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting aspect of these gimbals for the students is the \"pro-level\" polish it adds to their final films. They were absolutely thrilled to realize they could now execute complex \"tracking shots\", following a classmate through a crowded hallway or down a flight of stairs, with the same buttery smoothness seen in big-budget action movies. I've noticed that several students who previously struggled with the writing and conceptual side of filmmaking have especially warmed to this technology. These students have discovered a natural talent for the technical role of \"Grip\" or \"Camera Operator,\" finding confidence in the mechanical challenge of balancing the motors and mastering the joystick controls. It has given them a specialized skill set that makes them indispensable on a film set, proving that there is a vital place for every type of learner in the world of digital media.","fullyFundedDate":1773681102300,"projectUrl":"project/a-stable-future/10106111/","projectTitle":"A Stable Future","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brekke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10293601"},{"teacherId":10438789,"projectId":10110256,"letterContent":"When I first started teaching, I knew I couldn't let my students go without the digital tools they needed to succeed. I went out and bought a TV with my own money because I am deeply passionate about what technology can do for a child's confidence and their future. I've always believed that if I could just get the right tools in front of them, there would be no limit to what they could achieve.\r\n\r\nBut as my classroom grew to 127 students, that original 40-inch screen—the one I was so proud to provide—started to feel like a barrier instead of a bridge.\r\n\r\nIt has been a personal mission of mine to ensure that a student's zip code or household income doesn't dictate their quality of education. More than half of my students come from low-income households, and many are English Learners or Special Education students who rely on every visual cue and closed caption to close the learning gap in reading and writing.\r\n\r\nWatching a student struggle to see a screen that I provided out of my own pocket was a constant reminder of the gap I wanted so badly to close.
