The whiteboards quickly became a favorite during our reading and vocabulary lessons because students could write, erase, revise, and share their thinking without worrying about getting the \"right\" answer the first time. We used them to break down unfamiliar words, practice vocabulary, and explain our thinking. The magnetic tiles also gave students a fun, hands-on way to take a brain break while continuing to build creativity and problem-solving skills. Seeing their excitement when they were able to use the new materials made learning feel like something they wanted to be part of.\r\n\r\nThe snacks made a difference, too. Having a quick snack available gave students an opportunity to refuel and return to learning ready to participate and focus. As we worked on vocabulary and reading skills, these resources helped students build their word knowledge and become more confident when sharing their ideas. My students have been able to make gains in creating and writing sentences due to the donation of whiteboards with primary lines. The students have utilized the dry-erase markers to write those sentences with.\r\n\r\nAnother group of students has been able to benefit from the use of the Velcro that was donated. I have been able to create \"first-then\" board for the students to keep focused and working towards a goal.\r\n\r\nOther students have absolutely fallen in love with the word games that were donated to the classroom. I love how they ask to play Splash when they have completed their daily work.
