They allow students to see, touch, and build numbers, which makes abstract math ideas easier to understand. The flashlights also gave students a meaningful way to explore science by observing how light passes through different types of objects.\r\n\r\nThe empty slime containers were used for our Spread Kindness Project, where students chose someone whom they wanted to know better and used this as a vehicle to make connections within our school. With students given their own clock to manipulate, and space to write, it was easy for me to assess their level of understanding. \r\n\r\nThe donated books were used in book groups. It was very motivating for students to keep up with their peers with daily reading and weekly discussions.
