I would try to have my students get their energy out on the playground during recess and also take them on two walks a day around campus, but this wasn't enough. I was lacking the resources in my classroom for a sensory area. \r\n With your generous donations, my students now have a big sensory area on top of a large and colorful ABC rug. They can play in the ball pit, get vestibular input on a seesaw with a partner, push a toy wheelbarrow to give their muscles some input, and touch different tactile squares. One of the best parts has been watching students make observations and proudly share the changes they notice in their plants. They are learning that caring for a garden takes patience, responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue growing and observing our plants and connect our classroom investigations to our Pono Pollinator Garden.
