Some of the items in my project help to serve myself, the classroom teacher, in providing an organized and highly efficient classroom. Basics such as pocket charts and hanging folders, allow me to remain organized with student materials and lesson plans so that I might better serve my students. The mailboxes allow for students to gain self-sufficiency and responsibility for their learning and school materials. Timers and the wooden frog help to initiate transitions without using my voice and teaches students to be accountable for classroom procedures.
The items will provide my students with the basic learning materials that 21st-century classrooms need to have an enriched and interactive learning experience. The whiteboards will offer students the opportunities to exercise their math and reading skills in a fun more active way. I use whiteboards for formative assessment, to gauge student understanding. The easel is also another important item in the classroom. I would use my easel for chart paper and for lessons. The easel facilitates displaying anchor charts and showcases the books we will be working with throughout the week. The clipboards allow students the freedom to work on their work anywhere in the classroom, allowing movement and choice when working. The treasure chest will act as fun rewards, where students can earn "money" through appropriate behavior to purchase items. Again, I truly appreciate any donation given! Every child deserves a high-quality classroom with equipment to enrich their learning experience, despite their socioeconomic status!
