All of the resources were used immediately! The majority of the students go through pencils very quickly, which became a problem when our class sharpener stopped working properly. By having a new sharpener, the students were able to work more efficiently on all of their written assignments. This definitely made the biggest difference to students in class. \r\n\r\nWe had just gotten a new class color printer, which was able to print out colorful signage for our calming corner with the new toners! This added a great touch to the area by making it visually pleasing and welcoming for students. For the students who need breaks, time to calm down, or even just a moment of self-regulating, this area has been amplified into a more inviting and safe space. Thank you for adding this vibrant aspect to our classroom. \r\n\r\nThe expo markers provided had given the students more resources to use during our math block. We spend around half of the math block standing up at our group whiteboards, solving problems on vertical surfaces. By having a new supply of Expo markers, the students were able to work effectively and efficiently! \r\n\r\nLastly, the new class set of headphones was a very helpful addition to our classroom, since it allowed every student to use technology on the same level. Some students were unable to buy their own headphones, so they were unable to experience their technological learning in the same way as those who did. Your contribution was instrumental in providing the needs of my classroom which were feeding hungry students so that they could focus in class and learn, encouraging critical thinking as students play with the LEGOS, and organizing my curriculum/paperwork through the hanging folders. \r\n\r\nThe hanging folders had the greatest impact on job because when a particular service needed to carried out for an EL student, I noticed I could service them much more quickly and efficiently because I had organized my paperwork. An example of a task being done quick and efficient was an instance when an EL parent had made a mistake on the \"Language Survey Form\" when registering their child at our school. Therefore, I had to process the \"Correction form\" to rectify this mistake. In the past, when searching for a particular document, I had to fumble through my paperwork and time would be wasted just to locate a particular form. However, now I know exactly were each document is filed because your donation helped me purchase these hanging folder!\r\n\r\nBesides the hanging folders, the next biggest impact was receiving the healthy snacks. At my school, a handful of EL students are invited to the EL after school program to support their language needs. This program provides students who are struggling with English extra support outside the school hours. Students are given an opportunity to eat a snack before the after school program begins; however, sometime parents forget to pack their child a snack and the child is hungry when class begins. It is difficult for students to learn and focus when their hungry, so providing a snack for these children really helps. \r\n\r\nOnce students are finish with their classwork, one of the favorite toys students enjoy playing with is the LEGOS. Throughout the years, my LEGOS set has lost many pieces, so replenishing this set was a real treat for the students. It is wonderful to observe my students playing with the LEGOS and developing their spacial reasoning and fostering their collaborative building and planning with other classmates.
