They use the heat from their hand to make their letters or design appear on the board. When they put their hand on the board they can use their hand or fingers to create a picture. \r\nThe tactile flash cards make it easier for students to see the numbers and feel their quantities as well. They can touch and count as well as subtract by feel as well. Our next steps include expanding our creative projects—students will be working on storytelling activities where they use the squishes as characters, as well as collaborative group work that incorporates art, writing, and presentation skills.
