They were more than prepared for their field day and received substantial \"kudos\" from the staff at the center - this was in part due to the materials they had available to them. \r\n\r\nHaving a selection of quality literature focused on Hawaii History and the cultures that merged here helped my students collect a comprehensive understanding of their own familial past. By engaging with these specific narratives, they aren't just memorizing dates—they are practicing the empathy and systems-thinking required to understand our interconnected world.\r\n\r\nThe impact is most visible among my students who previously struggled to connect with traditional textbooks. I've watched several of my \"reluctant readers\" become the most vocal leaders in class discussions, sparked by a particular biography or a vivid case study on climate justice. By providing specialized mirror cleaners and sanitation towels, you have helped us instill a sense of pride and professional responsibility in our students.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new maintenance equipment, they were surprised to learn that a clean environment is just as important as the workout itself. There was a visible shift in the room's energy as we demonstrated the new post-workout routine. This ensures that every group of students enters a pristine lifting area, regardless of the time of day.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we have integrated these resources into a mandatory \"Clean Room Routine\" at the end of every class.
