The moment I unboxed it in our classroom, their eyes lit up. Many of them had never seen a device like this before—something that could be both a book and a notebook, a library and a whiteboard, all in their hands.\r\nWe've been using the Kindle Scribe to bring our reading and writing lessons to life. One of our first projects was a \"Read & Reflect\" activity. Students read short stories on the Kindle, then used the stylus to jot down their thoughts, highlight important passages, and answer discussion questions directly on the pages. I'll never forget one student saying, \"It's like the book is talking to me, and I get to talk back!\"\r\nThe Kindle Scribe has also helped us collaborate in new ways. During a group poetry project, we projected students' annotated pages on the board, so everyone could see and discuss each other's insights. It made peer feedback more interactive and less intimidating.\r\nYou didn't just donate a device—you opened a door to new ways of thinking and learning. From all of us, thank you for believing in my students and investing in their future.","fullyFundedDate":1740503010022,"projectUrl":"project/power-up-writing-for-special-learners/9082148/","projectTitle":"Power Up Writing for Special Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Flowers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9909006"},{"teacherId":10044495,"projectId":9381304,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation to help with my classroom makeover for my students. Having comfortable seating for students motivates them to find a good book and relax with a friend.\r\n\r\nI also appreciate the dry erase boards, markers, and erasers. We have been using them in reading and math small groups. My students enjoy building words during phonics lessons and writing new words on their boards. They are also learning to count money using the \"Hairy Money\" strategy and we have been using the boards for students to draw mixed coins and counting by 5's to count the amount. The dry erase boards and supplies will be well used as we continue finding new ways for students to stay engaged in small group lessons.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1733239984806,"projectUrl":"project/reading-buddies/8822814/","projectTitle":"Reading Buddies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Webb","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9778855"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55272","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1005,"numTeachers":84,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":47,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":68.8,"schoolId":55272,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Screven County Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Screven County Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/screven-county-school-district/screven-co-elementary-school/55272"}
