We are having the best time learning about adding, subtracting, comparing, and understanding numbers this month with the help of the grids you made possible. The most exciting part is we are only just getting started. My students are going to be able to take this foundational knowledge and understanding of how to visualize numbers in an array pattern with an eye for the relationships these numbers share all the way through their post graduate educational journeys. \r\n\r\nI wish I could have brought each of you in to see the joy in my students' faces as I first introduced the grids to them. First, I shared only the large one you see in the photos on the white board, the teacher demonstration model you all made possible. They were already 100% engaged as we began to talk about the patterns we saw among the numbers arranged in the grid. One student was so excited he jumped up and emphatically said, \"Look! The numbers all keep the same number on the right side as you look at the lines going down, but the left side goes up.\" He was so excited to come explain it to the whole class. He used this discovery to thereafter quickly be able to answer ANY question I could offer in the lines of what is 'said number' minus or plus any value of ten. It was stunning just how quickly he internalized and wanted to share his discovery. \r\n\r\nWe've only just begun, and the beauty of this particular manipulative is we can take it all the way through multiplying and dividing fractions, decimals, and beyond. I am so thankful for your belief in my and especially your belief in my students! This foundation they are building today is going to shore them up to be confident and contributing mathematicians for a lifetime!","fullyFundedDate":1746785780327,"projectUrl":"project/build-a-grid-build-a-mind/9269919/","projectTitle":"Build-a-Grid: Build a Mind!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. J. Because of your kindness, our classroom now has access to new Alphabet Tools that are making a tremendous difference in our students' learning journey.\r\n\r\nThese tools have transformed the way our young learners engage with letters and sounds. With hands-on materials like letter manipulatives, alphabet puzzles, and interactive games, our students are developing stronger foundational literacy skills in a fun and engaging way. For many of them, learning the alphabet is the first big step toward reading, and thanks to your support, they now have resources that cater to different learning styles, making it easier for every child to succeed.\r\n\r\nIt is truly heartwarming to see the excitement in their eyes as they explore these new materials. They are building confidence, recognizing letters more quickly, and even beginning to form words with greater ease. Your generosity has not only provided essential learning tools but has also fostered a love of learning that will stay with them for years to come.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their future.
