My first grade student do not have many books at home to read, especially books on their kindergarten and first grade level. Additionally, the school library is limited on the reading levels for a kindergartner or first grader. This project will put more books into the students' hands that they can read independently and grow to become life-long learners. These books will allow students to build confidence in their reading abilities, test comprehension skills, attention skills, and confidence in themselves. My students will be excited that they can read books then use the Surfaces to assess their knowledge and understanding.
