Thanks to your support, our middle schoolers have been so excited to read books about kids who look like them with experiences they can connect to! It's really built a stronger community. \r\n\r\nSome of our favorites include Mexikid and The Door of No Return. The kids are having rich conversations about identity, heritage, and the history of different cultures. Mona Lisa Vanishes also became a favorite, since the students were so eager to predict the twists! And Two Tribes challenged them to think critically about conflicts and perspectives. Our book club meetings are filled with passionate voices and lively debates as students connect the themes in these books to their own lives.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has not only provided books but has also cultivated a love of reading in students who didn't know there were books about them.
