The students that participate in the various extracurricular activities that I have the pleasure of sponsoring have various capabilities and disabilities. Our school is comprised of 95% African Americans and 5% Spanish. The population is also represented as a low socio-economic status because 90% of the students receive free or reduced lunch.However, their creativity and willingness to learn and take on new things and experiences never ceases to amaze me. These students are rarely exposed to up-to-date technology and program software, due to our lack of funding for updated technologies. And it has been my goal to help these students develop a passion and love for things they might be interested in later on in life, such as the arts, photography, film making, the sciences, engineering, technology, and math.
