Students really got into the recycling aspect once they saw what could be done with the \"trash\"! I even had teachers bringing their plastic to our art room. Creating the ocean from trash really pushed the kids to use their creative problem solving skills. Once they saw the potential, they came up with more and more ideas. \r\nThings that would have ended up in the ocean, suddenly became art. I think students will think more about the impact of plastic on our environment. The display was a big hit. We went through a lot of supplies- trial and error to make things stick in the glass trophy case. The display with informational posters is still on display. New students are still learning about the impact of plastic waste. \r\nThank you for making this project come to life. My students surprised me with their dedication and determination. It was lovely to see the students excitement.\r\nMy students are busy drawing their warm ups, taking visual notes (practicing their literacy and art skills) and making thumbnail sketches for big projects.
