Since I teach Mathematics I often have to find new and innovative ways to present material to them in order for them to be successful. Manipulatives and technology are expensive and I try to do as much as I can on my salary, however, often times it is not enough. My students want to fit in and learn the material just as everyone else does, however, the disability often hinders them from being as successful as their non-disabled peers without additional support. I want to provide my students with every opportunity to be successful so that he or she can go to the next level feeling like a success. I am requesting the following items:Listening Center w/ Headphone Rack & Eight Headsets that will be used for the non-readers since the Lexile scores of the students are often not on grade level much of the text must be read to them, Expo Low Odor Dry Erase Markers- 16 color Set will be used for all students in their interactive notebooks and for presentations, Insignia - 10.1'- Tablet - 32GB - With Keyboard – Black which will be used as a math center in the classroom for reinforcement of concepts. Staples Copy Paper, 20 Lb., 92 Bright, 8 1/2" x 11", White, 10-Ream Case and the Staples Brights Colored Paper, 8.5" x 11", Neon Assorted, 500/Ream will be used for the note taking in the interactive notebooks. My students love the success stories I tell them about previous students and want to be a part of the stories for future classes. One thing I can say is that they put their heart and souls into learning material and do their best. I know that all obstacles won’t disappear overnight,, however, I would like to provide solutions to issues they may encounter.
