Thanks to the tablets, microphones, lighting equipment, and stands provided through this project, our students were able to completely rebrand and expand our school news program, Fernbank LIVE. What once served as a simple morning announcements program evolved into a dynamic student-led media platform that extended instructional learning, highlighted student voice, and strengthened leadership opportunities across our school.\r\n\r\nThe technology gave students authentic, hands-on experiences with digital media production and collaborative learning. Students learned how to film segments, operate microphones and lighting equipment, conduct interviews, edit videos, and create engaging instructional content that was shared throughout our school community. The tablets especially allowed students to work directly on video editing and production tasks in real time, helping them build creativity, communication, problem-solving, and technology skills that align with real-world career pathways. Many students were especially excited by the opportunity to \"work behind the scenes\" as producers, editors, camera operators, and student anchors. For some of our quieter students, this technology gave them a new level of confidence and a platform to express themselves in ways they had not previously experienced in the classroom.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting outcomes was seeing students take true ownership of the program. Students became deeply engaged in planning broadcasts, showcasing school-wide initiatives, highlighting instructional content, and celebrating positive school culture. Fernbank LIVE became more than a news show, it became a leadership and learning experience that connected students across grade levels and gave them meaningful opportunities to collaborate, communicate, and create. Because of your generosity, our students were able to experience authentic 21st-century learning in action, and the impact of this project will continue to be felt for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1768089024160,"projectUrl":"project/lights-camera-leadership/9920116/","projectTitle":"Lights, Camera, Leadership!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Setrana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6410057_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1577377727998","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6410057"},{"teacherId":301435,"projectId":9771213,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to have these amazing flexible seating options to pick from!
