One of the memorable moments was during our force & motion unit when students studied balanced and unbalanced forces by building a puck slingshot. They designed their slingshot and started cutting them on the ChompSaws. There was some problem solving with measurement, but their excitement was incredible. The ChompSaws have empowered students to take ownership of the engineering design process, allowing them to measure, cut, build, test, and improve their ideas independently. \r\n\r\nThe students were thrilled when they saw the ChompSaws in the classroom. Many of them have seen them before as an advertisement. Many immediately began brainstorming projects they wanted to create. They were especially excited to learn that they would be able to safely cut materials themselves. The tools sparked curiosity, creativity, and confidence, and students eagerly asked when they could start building with them. \r\n\r\nOur next steps involve incorporating the ChompSaws into more advanced engineering and maker projects. Students will be using them to create prototypes, build models, and develop solutions to real-world problems connected to science and engineering standards. Through these experiences, they will strengthen critical thinking skills. Because of your support, students have access to authentic tools that help transform their imaginative ideas into real creations. For many of our students, this has been their very first experience using a real camera, and they've loved the opportunity to borrow them while learning to capture different subjects before tackling yearbook assignments.
