There is a big push for students to better understand computer science standards. Unfortunately, funding is limited, and with outdated resources, students take a more passive role in their education. They are not pushing themselves to really understand the content. With the Raspberry Pi kits, students are not only learning 21st century skills, but they are able to set goals for themselves and see the outcome. With these Raspberry Pi kits, students will be able to code them to create a genuine learning experience for themselves. For example, students can create weather stations to better understand the atmosphere. Students can better understand laws of physics by using the Raspberry Pi to create a time lapse video camera. Students can practice debugging codes with a game using these kits. The possibilities are endless with Raspberry Pi kits, and I hope to incorporate this learning experience in my class soon.
