Your support has made a meaningful difference in the way my students engage with learning each day. The new resources have helped create a more organized, inviting, and stimulating environment where students feel empowered to participate fully. Not only have the tools supported innovative, hands-on learning through our Project-Based Learning (PBL) activities, but they have also helped reinforce positive behavior and classroom management. It's amazing how much more smoothly our days run now—students know where materials are, feel more independent, and are clearly excited about their learning journey.\r\n\r\nI'll never forget the students' reactions when they first saw the new materials—they lit up with joy and curiosity! Their enthusiasm was contagious as they explored the tools and immediately began imagining all the things we could create and discover together. One memorable project involved small groups collaborating on real-world problem-solving activities that highlighted teamwork, effective communication, and critical thinking—all supported by the very materials you helped provide. As we move forward, students are preparing to take on more complex PBL tasks that encourage ownership of their learning while deepening their understanding of classroom values like respect, safety, and inclusion. Your generosity has truly transformed our classroom into a more engaging and supportive place for everyone.","fullyFundedDate":1739282319330,"projectUrl":"project/ms-dubose-college-success-social-stud/9076463/","projectTitle":"Ms. Dubose College Success & Social Studies Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dubose","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9609049_orig.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753148691043","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9609049"},{"teacherId":8820125,"projectId":8851670,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation and for purchasing T-shirts for our theater department. The addition of snacks, socks, an air mattress, a pencil sharpener, paper, lotion, deodorant, water bottles, and fruit cups has had an incredible impact on my classroom and my students' success. Many of my students come to school without basic necessities, and having access to these items has made a noticeable difference. Snacks and fruit cups ensure that no student has to sit in class hungry, allowing them to stay focused and engaged in their learning. Water bottles keep them hydrated throughout the day, improving both their energy and concentration. Paper and a pencil sharpener have made it easier for students to stay prepared for lessons, removing barriers that often discourage them from fully participating in their education. \r\n\r\nBeyond academics, these resources have helped build confidence and a sense of belonging. Socks, lotion, and deodorant allow students to feel clean and comfortable, reducing the embarrassment that sometimes keeps them from engaging with their peers. The air mattress has provided students who need a moment of rest a safe space to recharge, reinforcing that my classroom is not just a place for learning but also a place where they are cared for. My classroom has always been a chill, welcoming environment, but with these additions, it has become one of the safest and warmest spaces for my students—a place where they feel valued, supported, and ready to learn. Additionally, I was able to make goodie bags for families in need, ensuring that support extends beyond the classroom and into their homes. This has strengthened our classroom community and given students a greater sense of security, knowing they are cared for both in and outside of school.","fullyFundedDate":1737510026802,"projectUrl":"project/help-ms-loftons-students/9073190/","projectTitle":"Help Ms. Lofton’s Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lofton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9903724"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49072","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1338,"numTeachers":104,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":92,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":44.4,"schoolId":49072,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Benjamin Mays High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Benjamin Mays High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/atlanta-public-schools/benjamin-mays-high-school/49072"}
