Thanks to you, my students now have access to exciting and popular titles that spark their love for reading. These books have become a treasured part of our learning environment, inspiring curiosity and confidence as students practice the skills we've been working on together.\r\nYour contributions also align perfectly with our school's reading program, where students earn brag tags for their accomplishments. This simple reward has turned reading into a source of pride and joy, and your donations have made that possible. While these titles are often unavailable in the school library, having them in our classroom ensures every child has the chance to enjoy them.\r\nYour kindness has made a lasting impact on my third graders, and I cannot thank you enough for helping us create a space where reading truly comes alive.","fullyFundedDate":1755738070496,"projectUrl":"project/new-titles-for-awesome-readers/9240919/","projectTitle":"New Titles for Awesome Readers!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gleeson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2372852_orig.jpg?crop=644,644,x0,y21&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716381035201","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2372852"},{"teacherId":3118609,"projectId":9442039,"letterContent":"The students are loving the items we received through the kindness of your donations. We will be celebrating \"Kindness Week\" so we will be taping positive messages to a piece of candy and passing them out randomly to students throughout the week. My club members will help to prepare the candy with the positive messages.\r\n Next steps in November, we will write notes to Veterans using our blank cards, and decorate placemats for the senior citizens to use on Thanksgiving. The new books help us provide enough copies so students can read together in class and also share reading experiences with their families at home, which fosters a lifelong love of books. In addition, these titles are highly engaging for our students, which makes them excited to read. They also give us the opportunity to teach and practice a wide range of important reading comprehension skills—such as predicting, making connections, retelling, and understanding character and theme—all while using books that kids are genuinely eager to pick up.\r\n\r\nAccess to these donated books has been especially meaningful for students who may not have books of their own at home or access to a public library outside of school. For these children, the school library and classroom collections are their main source of reading material. Having new, high-interest titles available ensures that every student has the chance to experience the joy of reading and continue to grow as a reader, no matter their circumstances.","fullyFundedDate":1752421831942,"projectUrl":"project/brightening-minds-with-sunshine-state-bo/9227269/","projectTitle":"Brightening Minds with Sunshine State Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hinman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8526696"},{"teacherId":8526696,"projectId":8986642,"letterContent":"The donated technology is empowering our students to create book trailers and various other videos that allow them to express their creativity while developing their writing and communication skills. It is giving them another outlet to showcase their strengths, while practicing editing and other video production skills. This equipment has enabled many students to collaborate, creating larger groups and providing us with more opportunities to reach and engage with a greater number of children.\r\n\r\nThe students have loved using the Mac Minis mostly because the editing software is the latest version and works much faster than they are used to. There are also more capabilities in the iPads and the Mac Minis than the sparse technology we had before. The students are working on their first project, book trailers, which we expect to finish in the coming week.
