These resources are being used daily during our UFLI Foundations lessons and small-group instruction, supporting students as they learn to encode words while also strengthening their handwriting skills. What may seem like a simple tool has made a powerful difference in student confidence, engagement, and growth.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, especially my multilingual learners, the opportunity to write with a dry-erase marker instead of a pencil removed a layer of anxiety. Mistakes suddenly felt safe. Erasing and trying again became part of the learning process rather than something to avoid.\r\n\r\nWe now use the lined whiteboards during whole-group UFLI lessons when students practice encoding sounds, syllables, and words. The built-in lines provide essential structure, helping students correctly form letters, stay within boundaries, and understand spacing between letters and words. During small groups, students use the boards to segment sounds, map phonemes, and write CVC, CCVC, and CVCC words. One particularly meaningful moment occurred when a student who previously avoided writing independently confidently wrote and reread a full word on their board.\r\n\r\nThese tools have also increased participation across the board. Because every student has their own whiteboard, all learners are actively engaged at the same time rather than waiting for turns. This has been especially beneficial for students who need extra practice but may hesitate to speak aloud. The whiteboards give them a voice and a visible way to show what they know. I am able to give immediate feedback, quickly identify misconceptions, and adjust instruction in real time.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these whiteboards will continue to play a key role as students move into more complex encoding and spelling patterns. We will use them to practice sentence dictation, reinforce capitalization and punctuation, and strengthen the connection between phonics and writing. As students' skills grow, the whiteboards will support increased independence, allowing them to plan, write, revise, and reread their work with confidence.\r\n\r\nYour support has given my students more than just classroom supplies. You have given them a safe space to take risks, make mistakes, and grow as readers and writers. Thank you for investing in their learning and for giving us tools that truly meet students where they are. Your generosity is felt every single day in our classroom, and it is helping shape confident, capable learners.","fullyFundedDate":1765211968061,"projectUrl":"project/writing-our-way-to-success/9876481/","projectTitle":"Writing Our Way to Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McCauley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9549798"},{"teacherId":5892639,"projectId":9635710,"letterContent":"Here's a polished, warm impact letter you can send to donors:\r\n\r\n⸻\r\n\r\nDear Donors,\r\n\r\nThank you for your generous support of our classroom. Because of you, our fifth graders had the opportunity to learn with magnetic tiles and LED tablets—tools that made a meaningful difference in both engagement and understanding.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic tiles transformed abstract concepts into hands-on learning. Students collaborated to build models, test ideas, and problem-solve together. These activities strengthened spatial reasoning, critical thinking, and communication skills, while also building confidence in students who thrive with tactile learning.\r\n\r\nThe LED tablets added another powerful layer to instruction. Students were able to trace, draw, solve problems, and revise their work in real time. This encouraged creativity, reduced fear of making mistakes, and allowed students to clearly demonstrate their thinking. Many students who are typically hesitant to participate became more willing to share their ideas.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these tools created an inclusive learning environment where all students could access the content in ways that worked best for them. Your generosity helped spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and make learning more joyful for our fifth graders.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your support and for the lasting impact you've made on our students' learning experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1758294841309,"projectUrl":"project/from-words-to-wonders-writing-and-build/9635710/","projectTitle":"From Words to Wonders: Writing and Building Together","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5892639_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1537340790476","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5892639"},{"teacherId":1002846,"projectId":9433656,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom.
