The students were super excited to receive their new resources! This project has really kicked started some deep and meaningful introspection and conversation with the students. Each day we begin with a journal entry from the SEL workbook. This has not only helped them understand themselves but it has also helped them bond with each other. They have learned that they are not the only ones going through something. They are learning that their classmates have some of the same struggles they do. This is bringing them together as a class but it is also teaching them to not judge a book by the cover. \r\n We are using the 1,000 SEL questions with the Allstar Mentor students. These students receive additional help throughout the school day because of their disabilities. The resources are helping them navigate and make sense of the world. The sensory strips are a tremendous help keeping them focused and on task.\r\n The students are excited to continue delving into strategies to help stay on task, keep them calm when they feel overwhelmed and getting to know each other on a deeper level.
