My students and I have been able to use the materials you funded to continue growing our coffee cart, Cafecito on Wheels. This project gives my students a true real-life work experience where they receive orders, prepare drinks, and handle payments. They take great pride in being our classroom baristas, and the skills they practice—communication, responsibility, and independence—are especially meaningful because all of my students have special needs. The coffee cart gives them hands-on opportunities to build confidence and develop social, vocational, and academic skills in a supportive environment.\r\n\r\nWhen my students saw all the donated boxes arrive, their excitement filled the room. They were thrilled to know that we would not only be able to continue the coffee cart but also make it even better. Thanks to the two espresso machines you provided, we were able to add espresso drinks to our menu. This upgrade led to more orders, and watching the students proudly prepare these new drinks has been one of our favorite moments. One student exclaimed, \"We're a real coffee shop now!\"—a moment that truly showed how meaningful this experience is to them.\r\n\r\nWe are already using the materials daily as part of our ongoing vocational and life-skills lessons. Students practice reading orders, measuring ingredients, using money, greeting customers, and working as a team. These resources have given us the ability to continue this project for many years to come. Our next steps include expanding the menu, refining customer-service skills, and introducing new roles so every student can grow.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making such a powerful impact. Your generosity has created opportunities that help my students learn, grow, and shine in ways that will support them far beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1757396346615,"projectUrl":"project/cafecito-on-wheels/9674133/","projectTitle":"Cafecito On Wheels","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Candelario","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6105873"},{"teacherId":10175025,"projectId":9588937,"letterContent":"I am so happy to share with you that these items have become a staple in our class. Being able to refresh our classroom library, creates excitement around reading that is needed for kids to develop their independent reading stamina. \r\n\r\nToday some students were finishing their homework and they noticed two copies of \"Miss Quinces\" by Kat Fajardo on my desk. The cart is open once a week, and we've been able to make use of all of our project materials on a regular basis. Being donated everything we needed allowed us to start this project, which has had a great positive impact on my students. They are very proud of what they do, and every week when it's time to sell coffee, they look forward to it. They enjoy sharing what we do in our classroom and encourage others to buy coffee. \r\n\r\nThis project has allowed them to work on many different skills, such as making coffee, following a recipe, cleaning up, staying organized, and managing money. It has helped them develop their daily living skills. Taking and delivering orders has also improved their social and communication skills. Overall, this project has brought many benefits to our whole class. We work as a team, and everyone understands how important their role is for us to be successful.\r\n\r\nWhen we first received our box, the students were very eager to open it. At that point, they didn't quite understand what the purpose of the items was. Sometimes they learn and understand better by seeing and interacting with things. As we opened the boxes, some of the students recognized items like the coffee cups, sugar, and coffee. Other students had questions about what we were going to do with everything. They all helped open the boxes, and then we had to figure out where to store the items. They were very excited to start our coffee cart right away.\r\n\r\nThis project has been way more successful than I expected. Everyone at the school—from the administration to the teachers, office staff, security, and cafeteria personnel—has been extremely supportive, which allowed us to put our donations to good use. In the future, I would love to expand our coffee cart and possibly turn it into a \"coffee shop.\" I believe this will give students a more real-life experience and continue to help them improve their skills. \r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful for the support and the opportunity to help my students grow in such meaningful ways.","fullyFundedDate":1726874337024,"projectUrl":"project/cafecito-on-wheels/8741629/","projectTitle":"Cafecito on Wheels!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Candelario","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6105873"},{"teacherId":603255,"projectId":8479196,"letterContent":"First off, Thank you so much for your generous donation towards my project Art on the move.
