Having a stock of basic, comfortable uniform pants readily available in our counseling office allows us to hand them out on an as-needed basis, instantly changing a moment of high-stress distress into a quick, shame-free fix. When the shipment first arrived, my student helpers assisted in unboxing and organizing the inventory by size into discreet, accessible storage bins. Their reaction was pure relief—they immediately recognized how much anxiety this simple resource would eliminate for their peers, commenting on how soft the pants were and how comforting it was to know a backup plan was right here in the building.\r\n\r\nWe utilize these resources whenever a student comes to the office in distress, turning what used to be a day-ending crisis into a brief, supportive stop. Recently, a student came to my office overwhelmed and in tears after a surprise period accident during her morning classes. Instead of spending the rest of the day hiding in the restroom or calling home to be picked up early—which would have caused her to miss core instruction—she was able to step into our private room, select her size, and change into a brand-new pair of pants to keep. Within ten minutes, the visible relief washed over her. She wiped away her tears, thanked us, and walked right back down the hallway to rejoin her classmates, completely regaining her confidence and composure.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps focus on continuing to build a school culture centered on dignity, wellness, and self-advocacy. In our upcoming health and guidance lessons, we are working with students on recognizing bodily changes without shame and practicing how to quietly advocate for their own needs when emergencies arise. The Lysol wipes and paper towels came in handy.\r\n\r\nThe chalk markers were also used and enjoyed by the students, as evidenced by the photos, to create end of middle school projects, both individual and group.
