I teach third grade at an elementary school. The students in my school are kids that have had to grow up before their time. With all the adversity that occurs outside of the school grounds, they have our school and my class as a refuge. They are ecstatic to be in school everyday and are always willing to learn. Our school is a low-income school where 99% of the student population lives below the poverty line. The teachers are truly the push for the advancement of the students. Because of lack of time, resources, and education, our parents are not always available or willing to participate in the education of their children. We manage to care for them, love them, and help them learn, to their maximum capability.
