These generous donations have allowed me to expand our library collection with engaging, high-quality books that reflect our students' diverse interests, backgrounds, and reading abilities. Having access to these additional resources has strengthened my ability to create meaningful literacy experiences, foster a love of reading, and provide students with opportunities to develop their reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and critical-thinking skills.\r\nWe have incorporated these books into a variety of instructional activities, including budding reading groups, popcorn reading, small-group instruction, whole-class read-alouds, and student-led discussions. These activities encourage students to read collaboratively, practice oral reading fluency, explore new vocabulary, and engage in meaningful conversations about characters, themes, and important ideas. The books have also helped me differentiate instruction, allowing students at various reading levels to participate actively and experience success as readers.\r\nMost importantly, these DonorsChoose projects supported by the Bezos Family Foundation have helped transform our library into an even more engaging and inclusive learning environment where students are excited to discover new books and share their reading experiences. By providing access to a wider selection of literature, I have been able to strengthen our school's literacy initiatives, increase student engagement, and support classroom teachers in developing confident, independent readers.
