SLAM is a way for students to showcase the literature through artistic and digital expressions. Students have the opportunity to share their SLAM projects at the school and district levels. All students were engaged in the learning and reviewing of reading strategies. Volunteer parents were amazed at how well the students worked with their peers to engage in the various football activities. \r\n\r\nStudents were definitely motivated by the \"treats\" (snacks and football gadgets). As they earned points, they excitedly went to the concession stand to purchase their items. So, not only were students reviewing reading skills, but they were also using their math and problem-solving skills to purchase the items. Did they have enough tickets? How many more tickets were needed to purchase the prize they wanted? I loved seeing students work together in order to purchase the prize they wanted. \r\n\r\nIt was a fantastic event for all students!
