Because of your contribution, we were able to bring our vision of strengthening literacy beyond the classroom to life in a meaningful and lasting way.\r\n\r\nThrough this project, students took on the role of literacy ambassadors, actively preparing for our Guiding Parent Success family literacy session. They created invitations, helped decorate the event space, and assembled take-home reading kits for families. One of the most impactful parts of this experience was watching students write personal notes and reading tips to include with each book. They took great pride in encouraging families to read together and sharing why reading matters to them.\r\n\r\nYour support allowed us to provide high-interest books in both English and Spanish to our families—many of whom have limited access to books at home. This was a critical component of our initiative. Families didn't just leave the event with strategies; they left with the tools needed to immediately begin building reading routines at home. Providing books in families' home languages helped ensure that every family felt included, valued, and empowered to participate.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your donation goes far beyond the event itself. You helped foster stronger connections between school and home, increased student confidence and leadership, and most importantly, sparked a love of reading in our community. Students were able to see firsthand that their efforts can make a difference, and families now have resources that will continue to support literacy growth.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your support and belief in our students and their potential. Thank you for helping us put books into homes and inspire a culture of reading that will benefit our community for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1772574976379,"projectUrl":"project/books-at-home-stronger-readers-at-scho/10102725/","projectTitle":"Books at Home = Stronger Readers at School","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reeves","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp610164_orig.jpg?crop=1257,1257,x0,y96&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693507273922","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mslaycock"},{"teacherId":9078032,"projectId":10090721,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation to this project. It's easily accessible to all of the room. It is very lightweight and portable; it allows for quick cleanups throughout the day. It can be used efficiently between activities without needing to rearrange the room or plug into outlets, saving valuable instructional time.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, using the vacuum can foster responsibility; children enjoy helping to tidy up and take pride in keeping their classroom clean. Having a full belly allows students to have the best learning opportunity. \r\nAnother way we use the snacks is for tardy students. In my classroom I have wobble cushions, chairs, stools, ball chairs, a desk chair, and floor seats. This allows each child to sit comfortably in the style they like. I also have some regular height tables, high tables and low tables. My goal is to make all students as comfortable as possible to allow for the most learning. \r\n\r\nMy students loved seeing they have a choice of seating.
