We were able to secure three keyboards with weighted keys. We received donations of additional used keyboards from other schools, but the keyboards from this project allow students to play in a way that most closely resembles playing on an acoustic piano. This is important because proper technique is much more difficult to learn on keyboards with smaller keys that aren't weighted.\r\n\r\nWhen the students finally saw the keyboard lab fully set up, one of them said, \"This is so sick!\" They were all smiles and eagerly sat down to play. They definitely prefer the Donors Choose keyboards!\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, several students who would have never taken a Chorus or Band class at our school are now receiving music education. They have learned how to read music, many for the first time. Some of them have also begun to compose their own simple songs!
