My first graders have been so excited to have new stories to choose from and explore. These books are helping my students build important reading skills such as identifying characters and settings, retelling events in order, making predictions, learning new vocabulary, and answering questions about what they have read.\r\n\r\nReading is a very important part of our day. We read together as a class, practice reading in small groups, and have independent reading time where students can choose books that interest them. The new books have given my students more opportunities to find stories they are excited about, which makes such a difference in building their confidence and love for reading. I especially love seeing students share books with their classmates, talk about their favorite parts, and get excited when they are able to read a new book on their own.\r\n\r\nYour donation has helped make reading more engaging and enjoyable for all of my students. It has been wonderful to see even some of my more hesitant readers become excited to pick up a book and give it a try. Thank you for investing in my students and helping us create a classroom full of happy, growing readers.
