What may seem like a small resource has had a huge impact on classroom culture, motivation, and student engagement. We use the stickers in a variety of ways throughout the classroom — as rewards for participation, positive behavior, completed assignments, test review games, and academic growth. Students love earning them, and they have quickly become something that encourages participation and builds excitement in class.\r\n\r\nOne especially memorable moment was during a review game before testing. Students were eagerly answering questions, collaborating with teammates, and cheering each other on because they knew they could earn stickers for their effort and participation. Even some of the quieter students became more involved and confident. The stickers created a fun, positive environment where students felt motivated to engage and celebrate their learning.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue using the stickers as part of classroom incentives, interactive review activities, and goal-setting challenges throughout the year. As students continue preparing for assessments and participating in hands-on projects, these small rewards help keep morale high and encourage consistent effort, teamwork, and positive attitudes toward learning.","fullyFundedDate":1778629572083,"projectUrl":"project/stick-with-it-rewarding-positive-choice/10044408/","projectTitle":"Stick With It! The ChompSaw has allowed students to safely cut cardboard and other project materials independently, giving them more ownership and creativity during the building process.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the ChompSaw, they were immediately curious and eager to start creating. Many students had never used classroom tools like this before, and they were excited to have a safe, student-friendly way to bring their ideas to life. The tool has helped transform our classroom into an interactive, creative learning environment where students feel empowered to explore and build.\r\n\r\nAs we continue this project, students will move into the painting and research phase, where they will connect their ocean animals to marine habitats, food webs, adaptations, and environmental challenges affecting ocean life. In an alternative setting with small class sizes, maintaining an active, face-to-face connection with my students is vital. This technology allowed me to move away from the traditional whiteboard, ensuring I never had to turn my back on my students. By modeling complex concepts like budgeting and interest rates directly from my podium, I could stay engaged with my students' expressions and body language, instantly pivoting my instruction when I saw a concept wasn't clicking.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students was the shift from passive listening to active participation. For my ESE students, who often struggle with the fine motor skills or the social pressure of \"writing on the board\" in front of peers, the tablets provided a low-anxiety way to show their work digitally. I've seen particularly reserved students find their voice through this technology; being able to solve rational number problems on a digital canvas felt more like a modern skill and less like a chore. While the hardware has aged and now serves primarily as a \"pen mouse\" at my podium, its legacy as an invaluable teaching tool remains.","fullyFundedDate":1599665314440,"projectUrl":"project/learn-by-doing/5121774/","projectTitle":"Learn by Doing","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hinsch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7468612_orig.jpg?crop=2544,2544,x0,y407&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775670806504","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-hinsch"},{"teacherId":9310042,"projectId":9942940,"letterContent":"hanks to your generosity, our students now have access to school uniforms that help them feel confident, included, and ready to learn. Because of your support, students who could not previously afford a uniform are now able to come to school dressed appropriately and comfortably.\r\n\r\nWe are using these new uniforms to ensure that every student feels like they belong in our school community. One special moment occurred when a student who had been worried about not having the correct uniform received one of the new items. This simple resource removed a barrier that was causing stress and allowed the student to focus fully on learning instead of worrying about clothing.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the uniforms, many were excited and grateful.
