High schoolers can be pretty tough to impress, but watching their eyes light up as we unpacked everything was priceless. They kept asking, \"Wait, these are really for us?\" Knowing that these snacks were available campus-wide, completely free and with zero strings attached, brought an immediate wave of excitement and relief to our halls.\r\n\r\nHaving this snack bar set up during our busy bell transitions has completely changed the energy around here. The time between classes moves fast, and it's amazing to see how a quick mid-day bite can turn a student's whole afternoon around. Just last week, a student walked in looking completely drained and stressed before a big test. They grabbed a quick snack, took a breath, and headed off to class with a totally different attitude...energized, focused, and ready to tackle the rest of the day.\r\n\r\nNow that our kids aren't trying to learn on an empty stomach, they can focus on what actually matters: diving into their class projects, prepping for exams, and finishing the quarter strong. The new bookcases are filled with students materials! Each shelf hold a different periods needed books and notebooks and they are divided in each shelf to help make grabbing them at the start of class quickly, giving us more time for learning. On top of each shelf the colorful baskets sit waiting for any assignments to be turned in. \r\n\r\nThe podium allows me to move around to different parts of the room each day depending on each classes needs. I truly believe that the environment that students have to learn in has a huge impact. The overhead lights in my classroom are not only overly bright but also add heat to an already packed classroom. These lights make for a much more comfortable, learning friendly setting! \r\n\r\nStudents are able to adjust the setting of each lamp in their area. This helps them learn how to cooperate with their peers and be considerate of others needs as well. Our current water dispenser was well loved and required me to make multiple trips to refill most days. Thanks to your donation we make it through most days without the need for a refill! We now have plenty of cups and replacement filters to ensure each cup of water is clean and crisp! \r\n\r\nI decided to start this hydration station this year after seeing just how much time is lost leaving the classroom to get a drink of water. It also helps students who need a break to get up and move. Regardless of the time of day or dietary needs students have so much to choose from. I let them know that a generous member of our community decided to bless us with these items. Many of them were surprised and asked me why.
