Through this project, students have had the opportunity to think deeply about their aspirations—both academic and personal—and translate those ideas into visual form. The process of selecting images, words, and symbols that represent their dreams has encouraged students to clarify what truly matters to them and to take ownership of their future paths. By visually mapping out their goals, students were able to identify not only what they want to achieve but also the steps and mindset needed to get there. This tangible representation of their ambitions has served as a daily reminder of their potential, motivating them to stay focused, organized, and determined throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nBeyond goal-setting, the project has also provided a meaningful creative outlet for students of all backgrounds and skill levels. Many students expressed that they found joy and relaxation in the artistic process—cutting, designing, and arranging materials in ways that felt authentic to their personalities. For some, this was an opportunity to explore self-expression in ways they hadn't before; for others, it became a safe space to dream freely and share their hopes with peers. The collaborative aspect of the project fostered a sense of community, as students shared materials, exchanged ideas, and supported one another's visions. This blend of creativity and introspection not only enhanced their artistic confidence but also strengthened their sense of purpose and belonging within the classroom.\r\n\r\nWe extend our deepest gratitude to the generous donors who made this project possible. Your contributions provided the art supplies, materials, and resources that turned a simple idea into a transformative experience for our students. Because of your support, each student was able to create a personalized vision board that will continue to inspire them long after the project's completion. Your investment in their creativity and personal growth has had a lasting impact—empowering students to dream boldly, set intentional goals, and believe in their ability to shape their own futures. Thank you for recognizing the importance of projects that nurture both the minds and the hearts of our young learners.","fullyFundedDate":1758816405501,"projectUrl":"project/dream-it-plan-it-do-it-vision-boards/9383205/","projectTitle":"Dream It, Plan It, Do It: Vision Boards for Goal-Setting","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10045135_orig.jpg?crop=172,172,x13,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748446138092","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10045135"},{"teacherId":10045135,"projectId":9704089,"letterContent":"Thanks to the incredible generosity of DonorsChoose supporters, my students now have access to high-quality computer headphones that have completely transformed the way they learn and interact with digital resources. Before receiving this donation, our classroom faced several challenges related to sound and focus. With multiple students working on different digital assignments at once, background noise often made it difficult for learners to concentrate, follow along with video lessons, or hear audio instructions clearly. Some students hesitated to participate in listening activities because they couldn't fully understand what was being said or were distracted by the sounds around them. The lack of reliable headphones also created inequities—students who needed extra time to listen to material or preferred learning through audio often fell behind because they couldn't engage with the content in the way they needed. The arrival of the new headphones immediately changed that dynamic. Now, every student has the ability to plug in, tune out distractions, and focus on their individual learning tasks. Whether they are working on reading comprehension exercises, participating in virtual science labs, or practicing math fluency through interactive programs, students can now hear every instruction clearly and stay engaged from start to finish. The headphones have created a more peaceful, productive learning environment where all students can thrive.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this project has been both academic and emotional. Students are more confident, focused, and independent during their work time, and the overall classroom atmosphere has become calmer and more purposeful. Those who benefit from differentiated instruction—such as English language learners and students receiving additional reading or speech support—can now use online programs tailored to their individual needs without distraction or embarrassment. They are able to repeat audio instructions as many times as necessary, reinforcing their learning and building confidence in their skills. Beyond academics, these headphones have also inspired a sense of ownership and pride among students. They treat their equipment with care, knowing it was provided by generous donors who believe in their potential. The simple act of receiving these headphones has reminded them that others outside of our classroom value their education and are invested in their success. This has motivated students to work harder and approach technology-based learning with renewed enthusiasm. The DonorsChoose project didn't just provide a classroom tool—it opened new opportunities for engagement, equity, and growth. These are lessons that will stay with them far beyond their cheer seasons.\r\n\r\nMany of our students had never participated in a team sport before. Through cheer, they are discovering their voices, building leadership skills, and learning the true meaning of perseverance. When they stumble, they help each other back up.
