With the recent changes in the Department of Education, schools across the country have experienced major financial cuts. What does that look for our youngest learners? A lack of supplies and cleaning products to keep our classrooms sanitary. However, because of your kindness, I am able to provide my students with art supplies to express their creativity, and a clean and hygienic environment, which is essential for the overall health and well-being of every child.\r\n\r\nEach month students have thoroughly enjoyed using the art supplies you have blessed them with to create themed bulletin boards and artwork. Seeing their art posted on hallway bulletin boards each morning as they enter the room, brings so much joy and inspiration to them. They are so proud to show their families each day what they have created. This is yet another example of how your generosity has boosted their confidence and self-esteem.\r\n\r\nAs the season is changing, this is the time when students get sick the most and spread germs throughout the classroom. While several classes this year were faced with multiple students out due to sickness, I am proud to say that the majority of my class have avoided getting ill. Having access to a variety of cleaning materials allowed for more frequent and thorough cleaning practices! When we received our classroom supplies, students were thrilled to learn what supplies we received and how we use them to create a healthy environment. This gift allowed us to have a really fun discussion about the importance of being clean and helped my students to ensure that they take care of their hygiene.\r\n\r\nHaving access to cleaning supplies has enabled me to use teachable moments to expose students to the purpose of cleaning supplies and how we use them. From potty accidents to spills during lunch, PreK scholars have learned self-help skills that boosts their self- confidence. What a joy it is to hear students say things like \"I can do it\", \"I can wipe it up\", \"I can change myself\". The thrill in students' eyes while taking the paper towels to clean the table and putting on their own pull up during potty training is an awesome sight to see. It is because of you, Walker- Jones PreK scholars have been empowered with the ability to take care of themselves. Even though cleaning up spills or putting on their own pull up may seem like a small task, these small accomplishments increase their social emotional skills which is the foundation of students' educational journey.\r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for opening your heart to the children of Walker- Jones. It warms my heart to know that despite what is happening to our education system, people still care and want to see our youngest scholars succeed. Thank you for helping me to provide a solid foundation for students.","fullyFundedDate":1754756130387,"projectUrl":"project/every-crayon-counts-giving-students-the/9387769/","projectTitle":"Every Crayon Counts: Giving Students the Tools They Need","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Toni Tinner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7048397_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1658778362917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7048397"},{"teacherId":9797257,"projectId":9071470,"letterContent":"First and foremost, thank you so very much for your kindness, your generosity, and your support - both financially and both spiritually - in me and my students alike. We are beyond grateful. Teaching in a Tier I community...there are struggles deeper than my students not having the basic supplies...like bookbags, pencils, and folders. I have to give 150% of myself each and every day in order for the magic to happen, and having financial assistance so they can walk into a beautiful, bright, well-prepared, orderly, well-stocked, intentional and specifically curated classroom is priceless. \r\n\r\nI don't like tooting my own horn, but my students are ranked at #1 for the highest CAPE scores in our entire school! CAPE is the most important end-of-year exam, and for my students to rank the highest, I cannot help but connect the dots between our loving, generous, thoughtful donors and the triumph that my students achieved. For that, \"thank you\" just doesn't quite cut it. \r\n\r\nWhen our gifts arrived, all of my students fought over who would open which box. Even without knowing what was inside - the taped boxes alone - caused an immense level of eagerness and anticipation. When the gifts were finally opened, that's when the real excitement began! Talk about \"eyes lighting up\". \r\n\r\nOur gifted colorful bins are used for our Raffle Fridays game, where they are given tickets for their outstanding schoolwork and behavior. Our gifted container drawers are used for collecting and organizing their classwork. Our gifted colorful bean bags are a hit! They are everyone's favorite, which means they are leverage that is utilized as an incentive for exceeding my expectations. Our gifted woven baskets help bring an aura of beauty, peace, and tranquility into our classroom. And our gifted classroom decor items add to our culture, community, and flavor. \r\n\r\nMy students asked that I relay this message to all of our fantastic donors: THANK YOU TODAY, THANK YOU TOMORROW, THANK YOU FOREVER...BECAUSE OF YOU, OUR CLASSROOM IS MUUUCCHHH BETTER! :-)","fullyFundedDate":1746797810384,"projectUrl":"project/this-new-teacher-is-on-fiirreeee/9071470/","projectTitle":"This New Teacher is On Fiirreeee!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Warren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9797257_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757216382214","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9797257"},{"teacherId":8004639,"projectId":9206321,"letterContent":"Words cannot fully express our gratitude for supporting Stepping Up and Ending the Year Strong.
