I can't wait to read the story, 'Mouse Paint', to my students. As I read, I can already imagine their anxiety to get to center time to put together or mix colors together just like the mice. This light table will help my students learn as they use the primary color paddles and materials. They will discover that as they put the primary colors together, a change takes place...secondary colors. They will learn what occurs when you mix red and yellow, blue and yellow, and red and blue. I will challenge them to find out what happens when you put or mix other colors together. My students also will be able to make connections and describe what they see with their eyes as they use other materials on the light table. Their vocabulary will become richer as they observe colors as real-life objects light up! This resource will motivate them to learn the color words, alphabets, numbers and shapes as they use the materials on the light table.
