Many of my students have cognitive and physical disabilities, so having cleaning supplies donated by our generous donors has made a meaningful difference in keeping our classroom safe, clean, and accessible for everyone. We've built cleaning and organizing into our daily routine, and one moment that stood out was watching students work together after a hands-on activity to reset the room. Each student contributed in their own way, showing pride, teamwork, and growing independence as they helped care for our shared space.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to participate and took their roles seriously, understanding that these supplies help create a healthy, welcoming environment where they can focus and feel comfortable. For students with varying abilities, being included in these routines builds confidence and a sense of belonging. It was especially meaningful to see students encouraging one another and celebrating small successes as they worked together to keep their classroom clean and organized.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue to incorporate these responsibilities into our daily classroom structure, giving students consistent opportunities to build life skills alongside their academic learning. As we move into upcoming lessons and projects, students will take on more individualized roles that match their abilities, helping them grow in independence and responsibility. Thanks to the support of our donors, we are not only maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom, but also fostering an inclusive environment where every MES student can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1768442693818,"projectUrl":"project/clean-class-bright-minds/10014364/","projectTitle":"Clean Class, Bright Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stowe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4291474_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1547052025816","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4291474"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_24102","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":325,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":10,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":28,"percentWhite":48,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":53.9,"schoolId":24102,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about School Within A School - Goding on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"School Within A School - Goding","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/district-of-columbia/dc-public-schools/school-within-a-school-peabody/24102"}
