Many of them expressed appreciation that someone believed in their learning enough to invest in their classroom. Several students asked thoughtful questions about how the materials would be used and shared comments like, \"This makes it feel more real,\" and \"This is actually something I can use in my life.\" That sense of validation and support made a noticeable difference in classroom culture. Students approached lessons with more enthusiasm, focus, and confidence, knowing they had access to tools that supported their success. The materials also helped create a more inclusive environment, ensuring that all students—regardless of background—could fully participate in activities without limitation.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, students now see learning as something connected to real-world skills, not just assignments or grades. Your generosity allowed them to experience what it means to apply knowledge in authentic ways. By contributing to this project, donors provided more than supplies—they helped spark curiosity, motivation, and a deeper sense of responsibility among students. The classroom felt energized, and students were proud to show their work and explain what they were learning.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the next steps for students involve continuing to build on these financial literacy skills and applying them beyond the classroom. They will expand their budgeting projects to include long-term financial planning, such as saving for college, managing unexpected expenses, and setting personal financial goals. Students will also reflect on how budgeting connects to future careers, entrepreneurship, and responsible decision-making. Most importantly, they will continue to work hard, collaborate, and apply the knowledge they have gained in ways that prepare them for adulthood. Because of your support, students are not only learning content—they are developing skills, confidence, and habits that will serve them well long after they leave this classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758130349197,"projectUrl":"project/budget-bites/9682879/","projectTitle":"Budget Bites","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Stewart","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8224409_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1671591787543","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8224409"},{"teacherId":2957078,"projectId":9549319,"letterContent":"When our first delivery of goat feed and hay arrived this fall, my students' faces lit up. They rushed to help unload the bales, quickly realizing that their care and dedication had been supported by someone beyond our farm. For many of them, it was their first time seeing how community generosity directly fuels the work they do every morning—feeding, watering, and tending to the goats.\r\n\r\nThese resources have been invaluable. With a steady supply of hay and feed, our students were able to focus on building routines, keeping accurate feeding logs, and learning about animal nutrition without worrying about shortages. One class even launched a project comparing the goats' health and growth to the quality of their diet, which sparked great discussions about science, sustainability, and responsibility.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our students covered food expenses for the entire first semester, a huge relief for both the program and the animals. Next, my students are eager to expand their learning into winterizing the animal shelters and designing ways to keep the herd safe through colder months. Your contributions have made a lasting and tangible difference in the lives of our young creators.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donations, we were able to purchase essential equipment—including cameras, microphones, lighting kits, editing software, and green screens—that elevated our program to a new level of professionalism and possibility. For many of our students, this was their first opportunity to get hands-on experience with industry-standard tools. That kind of exposure is priceless.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, your support gave our students more than just gear—it gave them belief. Belief in their ideas, their voices, and their ability to bring a story to life. This year, our students produced short films, documentaries, music videos, and multimedia projects that they never imagined were within their reach. They learned how to plan, collaborate, problem-solve, and express themselves with confidence and creativity.\r\n\r\nOne student told us, \"I never thought I'd get to use real film equipment, let alone see something I made up on a big screen.\" That kind of impact goes far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour investment has planted seeds that will grow far into the future. Whether our students go on to pursue careers in media or simply carry these skills into other parts of their lives, they'll do so with a foundation that you helped build.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our program and, more importantly, in our students. We've been talking about grief, sexuality, identity, vulnerability, authenticity, and trust for months. Students were able to read the book leisurely in the library and more rigorously in classrooms. In the classroom they dove line by line on some of the poems and learned how to infer subtleties.\r\nStudents who felt \"different\" particularly enjoyed the book.
