This connection between storytelling and STEM helps make abstract concepts tangible and accessible, especially for early learners.\r\n\r\nIn the coming months, we are looking forward to using the holiday books about how to catch a leprechaun and how to catch a groundhog to design and build traps to catch them. We will also be using the books about Animals to learn about animal adaptations for our upcoming adaptation science unit. In this unit we will be using what we learn about animal adaptations to design and build our own new species of animal with adaptations that will help it to survive in its environment. The pompoms, feathers, pipe cleaners, dowel rods, felt, and foam sheets will help us bring some projects to life. They will be using these materials to design a structure that will reduce the sun's effects on Earth and will be designing a new animal species that will be able to survive in its environment.
