Because of your generosity, our children now have access to engaging books, letter activities, and hands-on learning tools that make reading and language development exciting. We have been using the new resources during our daily literacy centers, where students explore letters, practice matching sounds, and enjoy story time with new books. One special moment happened during our circle time when a student recognized the first letter of their name and made the corresponding sound in one of the alphabet activities and proudly shared it with the whole class. Moments like these show how meaningful these resources are for building confidence and curiosity about reading.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement filled the room. They immediately wanted to explore it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and how naturally the materials encouraged conversation, storytelling, and early reading skills.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our literacy journey, we will be using these resources to support our current lessons on letter recognition, sounds, and storytelling. Our next step is working on simple story sequencing and encouraging students to retell stories in their own words. Because of your kindness, my preschool special education students now have access to safe, developmentally appropriate technology that is effortlessly and meaningfully integrated into their daily learning.\r\nOne of our fun activities this holiday season has been reading my student's favorite Pete the Cat's 12 Groovy Days of Christmas on the Kindle Fire. For students that don't sit well, they need something to grab their attention. Reading this interactive book on the Kindle Fire keeps students engaged while supporting early literacy skills such as listening comprehension, vocabulary development, and print awareness. Being able to enjoy a beloved story through technology has made reading exciting and accessible for all my students.\r\nLearning through play is essential for young children, especially for students receiving special education services. The literacy and writing games supported by your donation allow students to practice letter recognition, phonics, fine motor skills, and early writing concepts in ways that feel fun, motivating, and developmentally appropriate.\r\nIn addition, the reMarkable 2 tablet has become an invaluable tool for data taking and assessments. It allows me to efficiently document student progress, track individual goals, and make informed instructional decisions. This technology supports accurate, ongoing assessments while minimizing disruptions to learning. During a recent assessment with 2 of my students, we also worked on taking turns, patience and sharing materials. Towards the end of the evaluation, my 4 year old's requested to stay and continue working rather than go back to the classroom and play with cars!! They loved writing on the reMarkable 2 and were especially enthralled with the \"magic eraser.\" I was unprepared for how motivating this piece of technology would be for them and it has made assessment interactions much more enjoyable for all!\r\nYour support has made a meaningful and lasting impact on my classroom.
